RRB JE Exam Date 2026 Out: CBT-1 on October 27, 28 & 30 for 4,029 JE, DMS and CMA Posts

Candidates preparing for Railway Recruitment Board engineering posts now have a clear target for the first selection stage. The Railway Recruitment Boards have announced the tentative CBT-1 schedule for CEN 04/2026, covering Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts. The first-stage Computer Based Test is scheduled for 27, 28 and 30 October 2026.

RRB JE 2026: What has been confirmed?

The exam-date notice was issued on 16 September 2026. The recruitment now covers 4,029 vacancies after Corrigendum-1 revised the original 3,993-post position. The revised total includes JE and DMS posts along with 35 CMA vacancies added through the corrigendum. Candidates should therefore use 4,029 as the current revised vacancy figure rather than older numbers still circulating online.

City intimation and e-call letter timeline

RRB has indicated that the exam city and date intimation facility will be made available roughly 10 days before the candidate's examination date. The e-call letter/admit card is expected to become downloadable about four days before the respective examination date. The city slip is not the admit card; candidates must download the e-call letter separately when it becomes available.

1. Visit your regional RRB website and open the CEN 04/2026 section.
2. Read the CBT-1 schedule notice and Corrigendum-1.
3. Keep your registration credentials ready for the city-intimation and e-call-letter facilities.
4. When the city slip appears, verify your allotted exam date and city.
5. Download the e-call letter when activated and check the shift, reporting time, centre address and candidate instructions.
