BSSC Inter Level Eligibility 2025: Age Limit, Qualification & Documents

Latest details for this resource.

Before filling out the application, it is very important to confirm that you meet all the BSSC Inter Level eligibility criteria. The commission is especially strict about document validity dates, particularly for reservation categories.

1. Educational Qualification

Minimum Requirement: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination from a recognized board (BSEB, CBSE, ICSE, or equivalent).

Technical Qualifications (Post Specific)

  • Computer Knowledge: For posts like LDC and Clerk, a certificate in Computer Operation such as ADCA or DCA is often preferred/required.
  • Typing Skills: Knowledge of Hindi/English typing is mandatory for certain clerical posts.
Note: For the post of Revenue Employee (Rajaswa Karamchari), a 10+2 qualification is generally sufficient and no mandatory technical certificate is required, unless specified otherwise in the detailed notification.

2. Age Limit (As of August 1, 2025)

The age calculation date is critical. Your age is counted as on 01 August 2025.

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years

Maximum Age (Category-wise)

Category Maximum Age
General (Unreserved) Male 37 Years
General (Unreserved) Female 40 Years
BC / EBC (Male & Female) 40 Years
SC / ST (Male & Female) 42 Years
Age Relaxation: Additional relaxation is provided as per Bihar Government rules for government employees (with at least 3 years of service) and for PwD candidates. Always check the latest official notification for exact relaxation details.

3. Important Eligibility Points

  • Marriage Age Rule: Male candidates married before 21 years and female candidates married before 18 years are technically ineligible. This is not checked in every case, but it may be invoked if legally flagged.
  • Character & Conduct: Candidates with a criminal record or pending serious court cases may be disqualified during document or police verification.

4. Documents Required (Crucial Checklist)

Important: All documents must be valid and updated on or before the application closing date. Any mismatch in name, date of birth, or category details can lead to rejection.

Keep the following documents ready before applying:

  • 10th Marksheet & Certificate: Used as the primary proof of Date of Birth.
  • 12th (Intermediate) Marksheet & Certificate: Essential qualification for BSSC Inter Level posts.
  • Domicile Certificate (Niwas Praman Patra): Mandatory for Bihar residents to claim state reservation benefits.
  • Category Certificate (if applicable):
    • EBC/BC: Must have a valid Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate. A simple "Caste Certificate" alone is not enough for claiming OBC/EBC reservation.
    • SC/ST: A valid Caste Certificate issued in the prescribed format is required.
    • EWS: Income & Asset Certificate for the current financial year.
  • Computer / Typing Certificate (if applicable): Required or highly preferable for clerical posts if you want to claim an advantage for computer skills and typing proficiency.

Frequently Asked Questions
