For NEET UG 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has largely reverted to the pre-COVID standard, making the structure more streamlined but demanding high accuracy.

1. Core Exam Structure

The exam is a Pen-and-Paper (Offline) test conducted using an OMR sheet. Candidates must use a ballpoint pen (usually provided at the exam center).

3. Marking Scheme (The +4 / −1 Rule)

  • Multiple Responses: Treated as incorrect (−1 Mark) even if one option is correct
Technical Note – Dropped Questions:
If a question is found technically incorrect after the exam, all candidates receive +4 marks for that question, irrespective of attempt status.

4. Language & Medium Options

NEET 2026 is conducted in 13 languages. The language choice made during registration is final.

  • Hindi / Regional Language: Bilingual booklet (English + chosen language)
