What is the JEE Main City Intimation Slip?

Many students confuse the City Intimation Slip with the Admit Card. It is important to understand the difference clearly:

City Intimation Slip

  • Shows the Exam City and the Exam Date.
  • Does not include the exact centre address (venue name/location).
  • Helps outstation candidates plan travel and accommodation.

Admit Card

  • Final hall ticket with exact exam centre address.
  • Includes reporting time, shift timing, and instructions.
  • Mandatory for entry into the exam hall.
Important: You cannot enter the examination hall with only the City Intimation Slip. You must download the JEE Main Admit Card 2026 when it is released.

How to Download JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip?

The NTA website may experience heavy traffic after the release. If the portal is slow, wait a few minutes and try again. Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official portal: jeemain.nta.nic.in
  2. On the homepage, go to the Candidate Activity section.
  3. Click the link titled “JEE(Main) 2026 : Session 1 City Intimation”.
  4. Login using:

  5. Click Submit to view the slip.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card: When Will It Be Released?

Now that the city slip is available, the next update is the Admit Card. Typically, NTA releases the admit card around 3 days before the scheduled exam date. For example, if your exam is on January 24, 2026, the admit card may be available around January 20–21, 2026 (indicative timeline).

Final Lap Strategy: Exam Prep + Logistics

1) Logistics Planning

  • If your allotted city is far, book tickets and accommodation early.
  • Try reaching the city at least a day before your exam to avoid delays.

2) Revision Strategy

  • Stop starting new topics—revise only what you’ve already covered.
  • Take at least one mock test daily in the exam time-slot to match your body clock.
  • Chemistry: NCERT focus. Physics: formula + error-prone concepts. Maths: high-frequency question types.

3) Keep These Documents Ready

  • Original Photo ID (Aadhaar, etc.)
  • Passport-size photograph (same as application)
  • PwD certificate / Scribe documents (if applicable)
